This is a continually changing page. Check back often to see new stories. The badge below is a Fort Worth police badge. The animal at the top is a panther. Fort Worth is known for the legend of the sleeping panther. It was coined by a Dallas newspaper writer back in the early 1900's who said, "Fort Worth is so boring there was a panther asleep on the steps of the courthouse." It's the only police badge in the world that has been to the moon. Astronaut Alan Bean, who is from Fort Worth, and an honorary Fort Worth Police officer, took the badge with him to the moon in 1969.  I've now added a comments section below.
